It's a wonderful day!

3 important announcements.

1) I am going to be a chef.
2) I am Wayne.
3) I am fat.

There are no lessons today so I decided to give making pineapple tarts another shot. The ingredients cost me about EUR 5, and I made 40 tarts from those. I was so going to make it work out today..

I'm so professional, I divided the dough into 40 portions, and the pineapple filling into 40 portions too. So I will end up with tarts of similar sizes..

I was satisfied with the way they turned out, and I offered them to my neighbours.. They seemed to enjoy it. (must sound humble. haha..) Gonna give some to Helios tomorrow, and she's gonna give me some food too. Interesting name right? She's chose it herself. She's from Hong Kong. I still have to save some for Remi when he comes back from Kemi tomorrow night. Got to thank him for lending me his skates, and offering his bus card, bike, etc etc.. Really a good room mate. Now I have satisfied my pineapple tarts craving. :) Too bad I do not have an oven in Singapore, otherwise I will bake these every year. Haha..

There was an international dinner party today at 6pm. I went over to Xiao Hui's place to prepare sweet and sour pork with her. Her room mate was preparing food too.

We arrived late at the party. It was supposed to start at 6pm, and we arrived at 6.40pm. It was already so crowded, but we still managed to find a nice corner to set our food down.

We brought the sauce and pork seperately there, and mixed them on the spot. However, it was not as hot already because we, and the poor pork+sauce had to brave -10 degrees to get to our destination. Not that I want to hao lian, but it was a popular dish! Especially for the Chinese, who knew what it was.. Den whack man.. I managed to eat some before it ran out. Even the ang mors liked it too. It was good quality Ko Lo Yok, Gu Lao Rou, Sweet and Sour Pork. :)

We are so skilled man.. I am going to quit my studies and sell sweet and sour pork, and pineapple tarts when I go back to Singapore. Haha.. Got to persuade my parents to buy an oven first.....

There were more food that I should have taken photos of, but there were too many people and too much food distracting me. All I can say is that I had the best time of my stay in Finland so far. :) There was also a fantastic omelette dish that a Taiwanese cooked. It is amazing how he managed to make that with the ingredients found here. It tasted so.... Chinese!! Wa.. There are many good cooks lurking around in the midst of the exchange students in the university. Argh, and I missed the tempura that Kazuki prepared. Wasted ah..

All the sweet food, wonderful as they were, made me a little ni(4). I dunno how to describe that in English. I guess the best I can think of is 'sick', but I wasn't really sick, nor feeling unwell. Just can't take too much sweet food at one go. I was full at that time, when I spotted..... Raghu!!He's from India and he brought...

CURRY CHICKEN!!! OMG!!!

OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! Words cannot describe my excitment when I saw his food (and him). I think he did not want to burn us with his powerful Indian curry, so he did not make it very spicy. But it was good enough! This is REAL food I tell you! He brought the curry powder from India man! Not some cheapo lousy curry powder from the markets here. :) :) :)

I think not many people were brave enough to try the curry, so more for me! Some white bread or a bowl of steaming white rice would complement it perfectly. Heavenly.... I took a second helping. Haha.. This was the second best food at the party. Of course I have to praise my own food some more la. Wahaha..

Taking part in the international dinner party here is the best decision ever made. It is a really a buffet for EUR 3.70! (That's the cost of the ingredients for the sweet and sour pork that we prepared, if the price is split amongst the two of us)

Ok ok, enough about food already. There was the usual chatting and socialising among the students.. A girl from USA said I looked familiar. I had no idea where I could have met her before.. Later she asked if I was at the international fair.. Oh, so that was where I met her... She said she was Lee. I probably heard wrongly though.

And I told her I am Wei Tang.

Den she, "huh?"

Den I said, "I am Wei".

Den she, "Oh, Wayne!"

Ok, So I am now called Wayne. WWWT. Not bad. And it has a hint of Batman in it. :)

I don't understand why people say I cannot get fat. Ask Yao Wen and he will agree with me. Especially after eating so much food. So I hope I can return to Singapore looking fatter, or meatier. Yup..

Onto a totally different topic, I web cam with my family this afternoon, and it was great as usual. My sister sent me 2 photos:

FOUR KITTENS!!!

And you know what the best part is? This was taken outside our doorstep. What's so special about that? We live on the 11th floor. So this cat CHOSEto CLIMB up 11 floors (she's too short to press the buttons on the lift), and CHOSE our doorstep to give birth. How cool is that?? If you think this cat looks familiar, you are right. She is shown on the slideshow on the right of your screen, and most of the kittens there are hers. I don't know how many times she got pregnant already. I'm hoping that she will take good care of them this time. Somehow, she seems to keep losing her kittens. Must pay attention to them 24/7 ma.. Den sometimes I will see her lazying around at the grasspatch, neglecting her kittens. I should babysit her kittens lor.

It's time to bathe and prepare to sleep. It's been a wonderful day. :)
